Frequently asked questions
Does the other side pay anything?+
No. Viewing and signing are always free for the person you send the link to. They don't need an account.
Who pays, and how much?+
The person who creates the signing link pays a small fee for that link. Drafts and listing cards are free. Online payment is coming soon; until then, signing links are free. See the pricing page for amounts in USD and EUR.
Do you send the document as an attachment?+
No. The other side gets a link. The document is viewed and downloaded only from the site, by either side, whenever they need it.
Is an electronic signature legally valid?+
In the US, the ESIGN Act and UETA generally give electronic signatures the same effect as handwritten ones. In the UK, the Electronic Communications Act 2000 makes them admissible as evidence. In the EU, eIDAS recognises electronic signatures; ours is a simple electronic signature, not a qualified one. Some documents and some countries require other formalities. This is general information, not legal advice.
What makes the signature credible?+
Each signed PDF includes a signature record: the signer's name and email, the date and time (UTC), a hash of the IP address (the address itself is not stored), device, and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the exact content that was signed.
Does the car memorandum transfer ownership?+
No. It documents what you agreed. The title or registration transfer is done with your local motor vehicle authority.
Does the money for the deal go through the site?+
No. Buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants pay each other directly. The site only charges the small link fee to the person who creates the link.
Can I add a phone number?+
There is no phone field, and we suggest not writing phone numbers, ID numbers or bank details in documents or listings.
How do I contact you?+
